Forest morning

As the day breaks…
As the morning fog slowly clears…
As the dawn filters in…
As the birds wake up…
As the forest gets ready for another wonderful day….

Sitting in a jeep…on a safari ride…as you realise…how mundane..& boring…& stressful life we lead….
And as it sinks in..that there isn’t much one can do about it…

Lucky are the souls …who live in that pristine lands…forests…

Pink blossoms of June

Only in June ….this plant is noticeable..

Otherwise she is just a stalky plant…with leaves here and there…! By the end of may..she begins to give out buds. By June 2 nd week…she is completely bedecked with clusters of these pink blossoms.

And just before the monsoon arrives…on those hot and warm days of may and June…these flowers are such calming and soothing sight

If you find her in any garden…just appreciate this beauty

The beholder

As I stood on my terrace…

And watched my plants..,,

They all looked fresh..&

Bedecked with jewel like raindrops….

But the one that caught my attention was this…

Canna lily…

A bright tangerine coloured…..

With twinkling raindrops…

In the early morning sun.,,

I thought to myself…

Was the lily looking pretty because she was decorated with those pristine drops?

Or were those raindrops looking pretty because they had fallen on those orange petals?

Or was it the sun rays ….which lit them up…?

Or as someone said….

Was it the case of ….

Beauty lies in the beholder…

Is it true…that beauty doesn’t exist on own…

But is created by the observers..!

No….beauty always exists….there is beauty in everything….

It is in one’s perception…

It could be the lily..

It could be the raindrops…

It could be the sun…

Or it was just me who thought so..

Or

It was all these….

A package …a beautiful moment

Star glories

Those trumpet shaped stars…in scarlet red…

A childhood memory….as the convent I studied …had loads of them…

Then I saw them…here and there once in a way…

That contrast of red & green…is very arresting…

I always wanted to have them in my terrace garden to cover up my grills…

My neighbors got them from Kerala ..& one morning aunty gave me 2 seeds…

And after 3weeks…they have grown so well….

Early morning these are the first ones to bloom..

This is a photoblog…of these gorgeous….delicate…flowers….

They are a huge favourite with hummingbirds…

Sad we don’t have these birds in India …

But yes….I see sunbirds hovering around…

But…they are just beautiful on their own….

I’m so obsessed with them….I take their pics…whenever I go to terrace..

And this morning …they looked so pretty with those tiny raindrops…

Gather out of stardust…

One handful of dream -dust ….

Not for sale……

White flowers on the way

With so much traveling lots of stuff I have learnt…which is a long list…one thing very surely I have realised is…you stop anywhere in your journey…take a deep breath…and listen..

First thing is you hear a bird call…whichever that could be..

Second thing is whatever the landscape is..& whatever the weather is.. a wildflower will be smiling at you

It cannot be a piece of land without these two…birds &flowers and the rest follow…

Past few months saw lot of flowers of all colours…but I felt I should make a photoblog of the wild white flowers I have seen…

Vrede Begint met een glimlach~~ mother Theresa

Translated …peace begins with a smile..&

A white flower does justice to this quote…

White is just pure…and peaceful…

Here are some pristine white flowers…

These were found in Nagarhole

Bandipur beauties

Somewhere….

Savandurga forests

Kanakapura forests

On a hillock at Nandihills

From a tall tree at Nandi Hills

A bunch of stars ….Nandihills

There is something so divine about white flowers…it can’t be ignored…..

Alfred Tennyson…said it perfectly…

White flowers of a blameless life…..

In other words white flowers stand for truth….

My last pic….is from sohar our second home for ten years…a beautiful desert landscape surprisingly with lot of greenery..

Front of my bedroom window was this barren brown land…in summer days …but when it rained…out of blue these sea of white flowers would cover the land….

I always said to myself…this is what it’s magical means!

Flowers are magical…appreciating them is a way of feeling the divine..

Nandi stop

There is something very charming about moving trains….the train station…the railway gates..& quaint rail stops

Had read about this quaint 100 year old rail stop at foothills of Nandi …

Earlier visit we had missed it …

This time…we followed the signs & it was a beautiful surprise…

The first sight is lot of abandoned old railway staff homes & a huge banyan tree…

Parked the car…& stood in front of a very colonial architecture …an old building with faded tiles & window panes but very attractive

Second thing which strikes is the verdancy…it is green…

As we passed through main door…on either sides there were bikes parked…people commute regularly to Bangalore & Kolar

Very quiet & clean station…on the platform…there is a ticket selling window…for the 4 trains which pass through…

And there is a one room little home of the caretaker…

With hardly any people …around …something very strange feel there….

Came out and sat under the banyan tree…made some coffee ‘ relaxed for a while…

As we left…I thought to myself such structures should be refurbished & preserved…

Instead of building ugly looking modern structure …

Next time on your way to Nandi Hills…just spend few minutes here…it is worth a visit
